Top 6 things to pack for your delivery

Babies Checklist Parenting

There is so much to prepare for during pregnancy, to make sure we are ready for baby's arrival. But one thing that can often get forgotten in the bustle (or as in my case - not prepared in time), is your hospital bag. Ashton arrived six weeks early so I didn't get a chance to take the birth class let alone pack my bag. So I asked the experienced moms in our KTC Insiders group, what advice they have to give a new parent-to-be when it comes to what to pack in that bag. And it's not a bad idea to have it prepped early, just in case! Here is what they shared:

Top items to pack for YOU according to our mom tribe:

  • Comfy pillow and/or nursing pillow
  • Phone charger
  • Comfy clothes (that includes a nursing bra and nursing pads, as the one you wear when going into labour might not fit after your milk comes in), a robe and slippers (our mom's recommended cheap slippers that you can discard of when you go home)
  • Cash for vending machines and/or food delivery
  • Toiletries (toothbrush and toothpaste, hairbands, shampoo and conditioner and lotion as the air might be dry in hospitals)
  • Water bottle

Top items to pack for BABY:

  • Car seat (you can't leave the hospital without one)
  • Baby's going home outfit (and some extra sleepers if the stay is a bit longer)
  • Baby blanket
And maybe the most important thing to bring: "Someone to boss around and do your bidding"! :)
