Summer holidays are in full swing, and although we are all about outside play in the summer there are some days kids are stuck inside due to rain (or smoke!) or just too much fun in the sun. So it's never a bad idea to have an easy craft up your sleeve. I found these Light Up Fireflies one and thought it was so cute! And it's easy enough for little ones to enjoy too.
What you need:
Flameless LED tea light
Googly eyes or white circle stickers
Silver duct tape
How to make them:
Open up the eggs and insert the flameless tea light into the "bottom" half, with the light facing out (this will become the head).
Use a thumbtack to poke holes for legs and antennae and pull the pipe cleaners through.
Stick on the googly eyes on the head part, or draw eyes on white circle stickers and attach. Draw a mouth with your marker.
Cut two wing shapes from silver duct tape and attach to the back of the firefly.
Wait for the dark, turn the candle on, put the two halves together and watch your firefly glow!
