Halloween Egg Carton Crafts

Crafts Halloween

Halloween is coming nearer and it's time to get costumes ready and decorations out. For the younger kids, it's always fun to include some of their own crafts in the decorations. Here are some fun (and very easy) crafts using an egg carton:

Egg Carton Monsters

What you need:
  • Empty Egg Carton
  • Paint of your choice
  • Marker
  • Ribbon
How to make them:
  1. Cut out the cup-part of the egg carton, you will need two cups for each monster.
  2. Paint the outside of the cups in the colour to go with your monster (orange for pumpkin, green for Frankenstein, white for a ghost etc.)
  3. With a marker, add facial features to your monster.
  4. Cut your ribbon long enough to tie around the monster. This keeps the two halves together, and also makes your monster into a cute container for Halloween treats!

Egg Carton Bats

What you need:
  • Empty Egg Carton
  • Black paint
  • Googly eyes
  • Ribbon (optional)
How to make them:
  1. Cut out three sections from your egg carton, making sure they are held together in the middle.
  2. Paint it with black paint.
  3. Add googly eyes to the middle cup, marking the face of the bat.
  4. If you'd like your bat to fly, just use a knife to cut two small slits in the top of the middle section. Feed the ribbon through and tie the ends together. Now your bat can hang from a light or window!

Egg Carton Vampire Spider

What you need:
  • Empty Egg Carton
  • Black paint
  • Googly eyes
  • White paper for teeth
  • Black pipe cleaners
  • Glue
How to make them:
  1. Cut out the cup-part of the egg carton.
  2. Paint the outside of the cup black.
  3. Poke four holes on each side of the cup.
  4. Push a pipecleaner in through the hole on one side, and out the corresponding hole on the other side. Continue with three more pipe cleaners, making the eight legs
  5. Add googly eyes to the front (or cut out eye shapes from your white paper and draw eyes on).
  6. Cut out two triangles from the white paper, add a bit of glue on one side, and glue to the bottom of the face.
